Knowledge Peering
|
Akuna has developed a method of joint open innovation based on principles derived from the open source movement. Knowledge Peering is the innovation between complementary or even competing parties to develop a shared component, product or service. In the simplest form all teams bring resources to the venture on the understanding that the output from the venture will be available to all parties. Parties contribute their knowledge and resources on an equal peering. On one end of the scale, knowledge peering is a new form of consultancy where complimentary businesses collaborate mutually recognising each other's expertise to develop a new solution. On the other end of the scale, competitors share resources to build components that they then incorporate in to their offering and compete in the market against their peers. An example of the later arises in the open source world, where software developers collaborate freely to product a software product - which is either incorporated in to a larger solution or jointly exploited in the market place. Knowledge Peering also incorporates domain experience, product knowledge, industry experience combined with formally qualified professionals to openly collaborate and innovate. Akuna is a founding member of ADempiere Business Consultants LLP - a global partnership of open source implementers and system integrators. |
